Hi.

I only have one microphone, and today, i took it out of my desktop, and put it in to my laptop.
On my desktop, i can talk, and i can hear my self on the speakers.
On my laptop, i can only hear myself when i use sound recorder.
I have tried fiddling around in volume control (muting the microphone, and putting line in on 100% and vise verser), but nothing happens.
Any ideas about whats going on?
Thanks, BEN.

Ben, try checking the "mono in" option. without this option checked, you can not hear yourself while recording.

1. Hit alt p for options, then hit enter on "properties".
2. make sure "adjust volume for playback" is the radio button selected.
3. hit tab and make sure "mono in" is checked.
4. while your in this dialog, shift tab to "adjust volume for playback" and change it to "recording" with down arrow.
5. Tab and make sure "microphone" is checked.

I hope this helps.
